$74K Stolen At Gunpoint From Moorestown Bank, Police Seek Suspect

Two female employees are uninjured after a gun-wielding man came in and ordered them to open the bank vault, Moorestown police said.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Police are seeking a suspect they say took $74,000 from a Moorestown bank vault after pointing a handgun at tellers on Thursday.

The armed robbery happened around 4:49 p.m. Thursday at the Liberty Bell Bank, 227 West Camden Avenue, said township police. Two female employees said the robber came in wearing jeans, a black jacket, red hat, white shoes, black gloves, and a surgical mask. He is described as a Black man and police did not share a possible height and weight.

The man walked to the counter while pointing a black handgun at one teller, police said. The other teller was sitting in the front office area, and police say the man told her to come closer to him.

Once both women were in front of him, the man ordered them to take him to the vault, according to police. The tellers complied, and he told one of them to open a safe and place money into a red bag, police said. Then, the robber ordered both women to lay face-down on the ground, which they did, said police.

The man then left the bank and was last seen going eastbound on Camden Avenue on foot, police said. He left with $74,000 cash from the safe, according to the Moorestown Police Department.
