9 Candidates Running For 3 Moorestown Council Seats
2 Democratic council members are running to retain their positions, while Republicans are set to have a contested primary.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Nine candidates filed to run for three Town Council seats up for election this year in Moorestown.
Monday afternoon marked the state deadline for candidates to file petitions to get on the ballot for the 2024 primary elections. Six Republicans and three Democrats submitted petitions for candidacy in Moorestown.

The candidate field is not yet final, as the petitions must be verified. But as it stands, the Town Council is set for a contested Republican primary.
The available council seats currently belong to Sue Mammarella, David Zipin and Christopher Keating. Mammarella and Keating are running to retain their seats on a Democratic ticket with James Barry, an attorney.
Keating was appointed to the council on Dec. 18 to fill the vacancy of Jake Van Dyken, who stepped down from council a month prior with a little more than a year left in his term.
Primary election day is June 4 for New Jersey.
