MOORESTOWN, NJ — The amnesty period for overdue materials from the Moorestown Library ends this weekend.
The library reopened last month amid the coronavirus pandemic. When it reopened, there was an amnesty period put in place for anyone who had overdue materials. That amnesty period ends Sunday, according to the library.
All returned materials are quarantined for four days before they are checked in. After the quarantine period, so items will be updated to disappear from borrowers’ records. Fines do not accumulate during the quarantine period.

The library's current hours are as follows:

- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.;
- Wednesday: 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Saturday: 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Contactless pickup will continue, but appointments will not be required. No book donations are being accepted.
The library is following social distancing and health guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and will be employing the following policies:
- Face coverings will be required for everyone (except where masks would inhibit an individual's health or for children under 2).
- Safety protocols limit the building's capacity, so patrons are asked to restrict their visit to 30 minutes or less.
- Seating will be limited, and social distancing is required.
- Computer usage will be limited to 30 minutes per day per customer. (Staff's ability to safely provide computer assistance will be limited.)
- Food and beverages will not be allowed inside the Library.
- Hand sanitizer and wipes will be available.
