MARLTON, NJ — Virtua Health is the highest-rated brand of health care in the state based on patient feedback and engagement, according to a new nationwide study.
The findings were published by Monigle, a brand experience consulting firm that conducts various studies, in its 9th annual "Humanizing Brand Experience" report that was recorded.
Virtua improved its ranking in every major category year-over-year, including consumer feedback on reputation, intent to use services, advocacy, and satisfaction.
"It's never been more important to be a healthcare brand that is deeply human, compassionate, and trusted," Chrisie Scott, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Virtua Health, told Patch. "What makes this ranking and these honors particularly significant is that they are based entirely on consumer feedback...how patients feel when they interact with our teams, how easy it is to access care, and how much they trust us with their health."
Along with their top ranking in the state, Virtua was the second-highest in the Philadelphia market and 22nd overall nationwide.
Scott pointed to the brand's "Here for Good" model and philosophy, a long-term promise to the people and communities they serve, as shining through these results.
"It reflects a commitment that is consistent, accessible, and centered around the whole person...that consistency is what turns a single experience into an ongoing relationship and builds loyalty and advocacy over time," added Scott.
Across the United States, 224 healthcare brands were rated using Monigle's proprietary system, built with academic research and powered by a structural equation model.
The report looked at measures around compassion in collaboration with The Schwartz Center for Compassionate Healthcare for the first time in 2026.
Virtua ranked 8th nationwide for "compassion" based on consumers' perceptions of qualities like sensitivity, understanding, trustworthiness, and attentive listening.
"Often, we find it's the smallest moments that carry the most weight, like a colleague who takes time to listen, a clinician who makes information easier to understand, or a follow-up text or call that shows someone is still thinking about the patient after they leave," said Scott.
Monigle uses four "drivers" in their studies to build a picture of how people sense, think, feel, and act in response to a brand.
These included sensorial, intellectual, emotional, and behavioral components.
Virtua Health is based in Marlton, and operates five hospitals, two satellite emergency departments, 42 ambulatory surgery centers, and more than 400 other sites around the region.
