BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ — A "wildland fire" broke out within Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst on Monday, the military said.
The fire was contained as of 4:05 p.m.
Crews are using burn-back methods to keep the fire in place and reduce the risk of spread.
Nobody needed to be cleared from the base and no structures are in danger, officials said.
According to the National Weather Service, the smoke is being carried by east winds towards Philadelphia Monday afternoon.
