Officials from New Jersey Governor Chris Christie's administration announced April 4 a public-private partnership with State Farm to sponsor the New Jersey Department of Transportation's (NJDOT) Safety Service Patrol (SSP) program.
Through the support provided by State Farm, the NJDOT will be able to reallocate resources to other high-priority safety needs to benefit New Jersey motorists.
The $1.8 million annual investment will be used to support the program including safety equipment necessary for roadside assist. SSP drivers patrol 225 linear miles of interstate and state highways in New Jersey.
