Arrest Made In Armed Robbery Of Moorestown Wawa: Police
The man was arrested just hours after the robbery Tuesday night.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — A Moorestown man was arrested hours after police say he committed an armed robbery at the Wawa on West Main Street on Tuesday night.
David P. Welsh, 60, is charged with robbery, theft, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose. He was also found to have a warrant for failure to appear on a motor vehicle summons out of Moorestown Municipal Court.
Welsh was arrested without incident at his home on West Second Street at about 12:30 a.m., Moorestown police said Wednesday morning. About three hours earlier, police responded to the Wawa in response to a 911 call reporting an armed robbery, followed minutes later by a silent alarm.

When they arrived, the clerk told them that a man wearing a gray shirt and khaki pants had pointed a silver handgun at her and demanded the money from the register. He then fled west on Main Street in the direction of Union Street in possession of $100 he had taken during the robbery. The clerk was not injured.
Police said they were able to identify Welsh as the suspect through an investigation and proceeded to his home, where he was arrested. Following his arrest, he was lodged at Burlington County Jail.
