Auditions for Moorestown Theater Company's Mary Poppins Begin Sunday Night

Auditions for one of a Moorestown Theater Company first begin Sunday night.

The title character will fly on stage during the theater company’s production of Mary Poppins, marking the first time someone will fly on stage during a Moorestown Theater Company show.

The cast will also sing the national anthem before the Philadelphia Soul’s Arena Football League game on June 26. Tickets can be ordered at www.MoorestownTheaterCompany.org.

Auditions take place Sunday, May 3; Monday, May 4; and Tuesday, May 5. Auditionees only have to attend one audition.

Auditions are at First Baptist Church at 19 W. Main Street, Moorestown, NJ 08057. Enter through the rear side door, on Carl’s Shoes’ side of the church.

The audition schedule for each night is as follows:

6:45 – 7:45 PM: Children auditioning for the roles of “Jane Banks” and “Michael Banks”

7:45 – 10:00 PM: All other cast members

At each audition, all cast members will dance; candidates for ‘Lead’ Roles will also sing, and possibly read scenes

Auditions are for anyone ages 6 to adult. Adults must accompany any pre-teen who wishes to be in the show on stage.

Anyone intending to audition must first register at www.MoorestownTheaterCompany.org before auditioning.

Rehearsals will begin Monday, May 18 at First Baptist Church, 6:45 p.m.

Performances will begin on Thursday, July 16 and run until Saturday, July 25 at Moorestown Middle School.

Mark Morgan will direct. Mark Pinzur is the vocal director, and Jody Haggerty is the choreographer.
