Baby Parrot Stolen From Burlington County Pet Store, Police Seek Suspects

DELRAN, NJ — Two men are suspected of stealing a young parrot from a pet store in Delran Township, and police say the bird may be in danger without the proper care.

Delran Police released surveillance images of two men they say were involved in the theft of a Pineapple Green Cheek Conure from Todd Marcus Birds Exotic.

The pet store said the theft happened Jan. 7, and added that the bird is still hand-feeding.

Todd Marcus Birds Exotic is also asking for the public's help finding the bird. Video shared by the store shows the suspects in the shop, which is located on Burlington Pike.

According to Allaboutparrots.com, the pineapple green cheek conure is a less common coloration of the conure, and is a smaller parrot. The birds and are described as friendly, but "prone to biting" if not trained.

These birds have a tan-colored head, yellow sides, and lime-green feathers according to the website. The pineapple green cheeked conure has red and yellow feathers on its chest.
