Blue Heron Entangled In Fishing Line Rescued In Moorestown
Officials took the bird to the Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge.
MOORESTOWN, NJ — A blue heron entangled in a fishing line at Strawbridge Lake is now free as a bird, thanks to several first responders.
The creature got stuck in a fishing line, suspending it from a tree 20 feet above the lake. Police and fire personnel brought the bird down Sunday night, and wildlife experts untangled the line and removed a hook from the blue heron's leg.
Officials transported the blue heron to the Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge.
