Brush Fire Burns At Golf Course In Burlington Co.

It's in the same town that endured several major wildfires in recent weeks.

EVESHAM, NJ — A brush fire is burning at a golf course in Burlington County, officials said Monday afternoon.

The fire at Links Golf Club totaled about 5 acres as of 2:15 p.m. Monday, according to Evesham Fire-Rescue, which is there with the New Jersey Forest Fire Service.

No homes are under threat, officials said. But residents in the Kings Grant neighborhood will smell smoke, and the fire will smolder until there's soaking rain.

Evesham had two major wildfires in recent weeks — both around Sycamore Avenue in the southern portion of the township. A 14-year-old boy was charged with arson after one of the fires, and authorities are investigating whether the incidents are linked.

Monday's blaze is considerably small than the recent wildfires, which reached 52 and 375 acres, respectively.
