Building Demolitions, Primer On Squirrels: Moorestown Monday Manual

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Welcome to the May 16 edition of the Moorestown Monday Manual, where we highlight important events coming up this week in and around Moorestown.

• On Tuesday at 7 p.m., the Moorestown Township School Board will hold a board meeting at the William W. Allen Middle School. Some of the agenda items include votes on procedures when substitute school nurses are needed within the district and who will provide the district’s janitorial services.

• Then on Wednesday, the Moorestown Appearance Committee meets at 7 p.m. at the Moorestown Library. Among the items on this committee’s agenda are demolition applications for a more than 80-year-old home on South Lenola Road and a more than 125-year-old funeral home on Chester Avenue.

• Moving onto Thursday, the Moorestown Rotary brings in a speaker named Hal Levenson, who will discuss the Small Business Mentorship Initiative. This strategy offers entrepreneurs connected to smaller businesses help in areas such as accounting, finance, sales, marketing and operations, according to the initiative’s website.

• Then on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., the Moorestown Library provides kids with a primer about squirrels, an animal that appears to be ubiquitous most of the year. Attendees will learn how these animals store their food, how these animals help trees grow and more.
