TABERNACLE, NJ — A high school paraprofessional convinced a student to send him nude photos, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office (BCPO).

Michael Van Kline, who works for Seneca High School in Tabernacle, had sexual conversations with the student on social media, authorities said. During those conversations, Van Kline suggested that they meet up for sex, according to the BCPO.

Van Kline, 42, of Lumberton, was arrested Thursday and charged with third-degree endangering the welfare of a child. He was released Friday from Burlington County Jail after his initial court appearance.

Officials from the Lenape Regional High School District, which includes Seneca, indicated he has been banned from school grounds and school functions, the BCPO said.

The investigation began after authorities learned that Van Kline may have been inappropriately communicating with a student electronically. The BCPO is withholding further information to protect the victim's identity.
