Guilty Plea In Decades-Old Child Sex Assaults: Burlington Co. Prosecutor

The assaults happened over a nine-year period, officials said.

BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ — A woman has admitted to sexually assaulting a child over several years in Burlington County, the prosecutor's office said.

Medford resident Katherine Clements, 61, pleaded guilty to a second-degree charge of sexual assault on Jan. 20, according to prosecutor LaChia Bradshaw. The victim contacted Medford Police in 2018 to report the assaults, which officials say occurred over a nine-year period and began in the early 1980s.

Officials are withholding additional details to protect the victim's privacy.

This charge carries a sentence of 10 years in prison, Bradshaw said. As part of the plea agreement, Judge Mark Tarantino will determine the length of her prison term. Sentencing is scheduled for May 5, Bradshaw said.
