MOORESTOWN, NJ — Burlington County's biggest celebration of local cuisine will feature dozens of participating restaurants, including several Moorestown favorites.

From Aug. 20-26, the county's Summer Restaurant Week will showcase some of the region's most popular destinations for food, drinks, desserts and appetizers. Typically, some of the eateries offer special menus or discounts that week.

Moorestown's dining scene has two confirmed participants as of Monday: Joe Italiano's Maplewood (Moorestown Mall, 400 Route 38) and Luna Y Sol Mexican Restaurant (61 E Main St.). View the full list of participants below.

The growing restaurant roster — nearly 50 strong — could change, since businesses can still sign up for Restaurant Week inclusion. Restaurants can enroll for free, and there's no requirement to offer specials or discounts.

Burlington County Restaurant Week began in 2019 as an economic-development initiative to showcase different restaurants and their importance to local communities. The event quickly grew into one of the county's most popular business promotions, prompting organizers to make the event bi-annual — the county hosted its first Winter Restaurant Week last March.

Luna Y Sol both participated in the Winter Restaurant Week, along with three other Moorestown establishments: Barone's Tuscan Grill, Maurizio's Bistro, and SoBol.

"The first Winter Restaurant Week was held in March this year and was a giant success with more than 60 restaurants participating," County Commissioner Deputy Director Tom Pullion said in a statement. "We expect the upcoming Summer Restaurant Week to be even bigger."

Restaurant Week is sponsored by the Burlington County Commissioners, State Sen. Troy Singleton and the Burlington County Regional Chamber of Commerce.
