MOUNT LAUREL, NJ — When Robin A. Walton chaired Rowan College of Burlington County’s Board of Trustees meeting this past Tuesday, she became the first black woman to hold that position, the institution said.

She told Patch that creating educational opportunities that are accessible to all and meeting the needs of the college’s students as “they prepare to step into the workforce” are some of her top priorities as the board of trustees’ chair.

“Then we create greater access to opportunity around economic development, around workforce development, around health and wellness, around any and everything that we need in order to be whole people.”
