Celebrate the season with the Essence of Harmony Choral Society at “Silver & Gold,” a one-night-only holiday concert on Saturday, December 13 at 4:00 PM. Led by founder and conductor Cherisse R. Bonefont, this year’s program features “Ballad of the Brown King” by Margaret Bonds with orchestration by Malcolm J. Merriweather.
The concert will include additional works by Dr. Rosephanye Powell, Victor C. Johnson, Kirk Franklin, and more, showcasing a vibrant blend of classical, sacred, and contemporary holiday music. EHCS will be joined by the Ebony String Quartet, acclaimed professional soloists, and guest harpist for an unforgettable musical experience. Conductor Cherisse Bonefont says, “This season invites us to pause, reflect, and rejoice. Through this concert, we hope to offer our audience a moment of peace, inspiration, and holiday warmth.”
Since its founding in 2019, the Essence of Harmony Choral Society has remained committed to performing and uplifting music by Black American composers and arrangers, bringing excellence, storytelling, and community connection to every stage.
