Centering the Body at Crystal's Astrology Shop

Crystal Marks is available to offer advice for all of life’s problems. Born a spiritualist, she says she has inherited her gifts from her mother, who also passed the ability on to Marks’ sister.

At Crystal’s Astrology Shop on Chester Avenue, Marks is offering a variety of readings, ranging in price from $10 to $80.

“I offer spiritual remedies. I don’t believe in medicine,” Marks explains. If she detects that life is out of balance for you, it is likely she will mix an oil that she feels can help.

Marks says she can give “advice in all problems of life, such as love, marriage and business.” But she is careful to distinguish herself from a psychic. “I can’t see into the future,” she explains.

Using a set of cards, Marks offers "angel readings." During these readings, Marks connects with your angel guide to give you personal information and messages from the angel. She also offers readings through love cards.

“I can tell people about their love life, how a relationship might end up,” she says.

With chakra balancing, Marks explores the seven chakra centers in the body. Chakra is a concept originating from Hindu texts and used in Hindu practices. Its name derives from the Sanskrit word for "wheel."  Everyone has seven chakras within the body, according to Marks, and these chakras are the keys to unlocking potential in different aspects of our lives. The goal is to have all seven chakras in perfect harmony and balance, Marks says.

Marks also creates all of the oils, candles, incense, spiritual jewelry and paintings that are for sale in the store.

Open since November, business has been “pretty good” so far, Marks said. She plans to expand this summer, adding hand and foot soaks, to release toxins from the body and relieve stress.
