Chainsaw Damage, $12K Trailer Theft Reported In Burlington County Town

Police are investigating the theft of a business's trailer, and an attempted break-in with a chainsaw in this Burlington County community.

MOUNT LAUREL, NJ — A trailer theft and attempted break-in with a chainsaw are among the reports Mount Laurel Police have taken in recent days, the department said.

Mount Laurel Police saw a theft in progress on Thursday, Jan. 12 at 1:50 a.m., the department said. Officers say three men in a Ford Ecoline van with a trailer that had been stolen from a business on the 100 block of Gaither Drive. Police said the trailer is estimated to be worth $12,000.

"Patrol officers located the van and trailer on Route 73 and Fellowship Road.," said police. "As patrols approached the males fled the scene and would not stop."

Police also said a suspect tried to break into T-Mobile at 52 Centerton Road using a chainsaw, at around 9:36 a.m. Sunday.

"Upon arrival patrols were not able to locate any suspect(s)," said police. "A large hole was discovered in the wall shared by T-Mobile and Great Clips."

Mount Laurel police also announced several arrests and another vehicle theft reported last week.
