Clean Water Action To Canvass Moorestown Soon

The national non-profit citizen's lobby will go door-to-door in the township to talk about water issues and to fund raise.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Clean Water Action, a national non-profit citizen’s lobby, will be canvassing Moorestown soon, according to the police department. This is an annual campaign in which they go door-to-door to talk about specific legislative issues and fund raise for their lobbying efforts.

Canvassing is approved and will take place Monday through Friday, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Before canvassing begins, Clean Water Action notifies the township and provides a copy of their certificate of non-profit status.

They also provide the police department a list of current authorized Clean Water Action staff, and the canvassers do carry identification. Due to the political nature of their work, the Supreme Court exempts Clean Water Action and other non-profits from registration requirements involving “solicitor permits.”
