Democratic candidate for New Jersey’s Third Congressional District Aimee Belgard was highlighted by msnbc.com during the news organization’s “30 in 30” Women Candidates to Watch series.

Belgard is running against Republican Tom MacArthur for the seat left vacant when Jon Runyan decided not to run for re-election in the Nov. 4 election.

In her interview on the website, the Burlington County Freeholder vowed to give the middle class another ally in Congress, promised to bring the perspective of a working mother of two to Congress and called Alice Paul an inspiration.

Currently there are 20 women in Congress, making up 24.2 percent of state representatives, according to the report.
