MOORESTOWN, NJ — The Moorestown Library will offer contactless pickup beginning June 22, even as the building remains closed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

“We are thrilled to offer this service to our patrons who have waited so patiently to get access to library materials during this pandemic,” Moorestown Library Director Joan Serpico said.

Gov. Phil Murphy announced on Friday that libraries can begin to provide contact-less pickup for library materials starting on June 15. Read More: Gov. Murphy Announces More NJ Business Coronavirus Reopenings

When the materials are ready, library staff will call to arrange a time for the items to be picked up. Once they arrive, patrons are asked to call, and library staff will bring the materials to a table outside the library where the items can be retrieved.

Books, DVDs, CDs, and computer-generated printouts (via PrinterOn remote printing) can be picked up. Some items like museum passes, binge boxes, book group in a bag and interlibrary loan items are not available for pickup.

Patrons can request up to 20 items per library card, per day. The service is available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday – Friday (by appointment). Library materials can be returned via the book drop.

All returned library materials will be quarantined for at least 72 hours to prevent possible spread of the coronavirus.

The Moorestown Library has instituted a Summer Fine Amnesty through Aug. 30. No late fees will be charged during this time. Timely returns are appreciated, however, since other readers may be anxiously awaiting the materials.
