Craft Event, Theater and Music: Moorestown Library Offers Plenty Of Activities During Holiday Break
Activities run all week, through New Year's Eve.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Christmas is day, Hannukah continues and the kids have off for the week. What will you? The Moorestown Library has some ideas.
Drop-In Calendar Craft: 2017 is right around the corner. Drop into the Children’s room anytime between Tuesday, Dec. 27 and Saturday, Dec. 31, to make a custom calendar. Bring pictures from home or use the library’s craft supplies.
On Wednesday, Dec. 28, at 10 a.m., Crabgrass Puppet Theatre presents “African Adventure Tales.” The show, sponsored by Sean Fischel Connect, features two classic African tales in time for Kwanzaa.

In “Anansi and the Talking Melon,” Anansi the Trickster Spider eats his way into Elephant’s melon. He eats so much and gets so fat that he gets stuck. He then tricks the other animals into believing the melon can talk. Will the other animals teach him a lesson in the end?
In “Kai and the Kola Nuts,” the youngest son of a chief receives just one small kola nut tree as his inheritance. On his journey to find a new home, he meets a snake, a crocodile and a colony of ants, all in desperate need of kola nuts. Kai helps the animals and leaves himself with nothing. His kindness is rewarded when the creatures help him find a new home.

On Thursday, Dec. 29, at 10 a.m., Mystic Drumz presents “The Legend of Marshmallow Island.” The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Moorestown Public Library.
Mystic Drumz will use various percussion instruments from around the world to go on a musical adventure to a magical island that emerges from the middle of a mystical pond. Larry the Frog and friends go off in search of Marshmallow Island and the legendary dance party that takes place there. Featured instruments include the Nigerian Talking Drum, Brazilian Quica, Vibraslap, Flextone, Chinese Gong and more.
