'Critical' Work On Sewer Treatment Plant In Moorestown's OK'd Budget
Moorestown Township's approved budget for 2022 totals about $27.4 million, the township said.
MOORESTOWN, NJ — Moorestown Township's approved budget for 2022 — which totals about $27.4 million — includes $2.165 million for sewer treat plant improvements, the township said.
Moorestown Mayor Nicole Gillespie told Patch the township would have liked to fund items such as a land purchase near Boundary Creek Park, construct a new softball field, refurbish the home of the Perkins Center for the Arts and make the township's bike lanes longer.
"We make [budget] decisions based on where we see the greatest need and the greatest impact," Gillespie said. "Sometimes that means putting off popular projects like new parks or athletic fields so that we can handle something like critical maintaining the sewer treatment plant, which is less exciting but vitally important to every resident in town."
