Eight Moorestown Friends School Students Join World Language Honor Societies
Students joined the national Chinese, French and Spanish honor societies this week.
Eight students at Moorestown Friends School have been inducted into three world language honor societies, the school announced this week.
Juniors Marirose Aleardi and Erin Chen were inducted into the National Chinese Honor Society.
The National Chinese Honor Society was established in November 1993 to recognize those accomplished high school students who study Chinese as a world language. The National Chinese Honor Society is a scholastic organization that promotes and recognizes students with good citizenship, leadership, and deeds of community service.

Juniors Edward Gelernt, Andrew Harkaway, and Alexandra Katsnelson were inducted into the National French Honor Society (Société Honoraire de Français).
The Société Honoraire de Français of the American Association of Teachers of French aims to stimulate interest in the study of French, to promote high standards of scholarship, to reward scholastic achievements, to create enthusiasm for and an understanding of francophone culture, to promote and perpetuate international friendship, and to reward efforts toward furthering solidarity in the French-speaking world.

Juniors Gabriela Montes, Margaux Vellucci, and Mia Zayas were inducted into the National Spanish Honor Society (Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica).
The Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica is an honor society for high school students enrolled in Spanish and Portuguese and is sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.
The Moorestown Friends School chapters of the National French and National Spanish honor societies have been in existence since 1989.
