A tow truck got hit while removing a vehicle from an earlier crash. Then, a rescue truck blocking the scene was struck, officials said.
MOUNT LAUREL, NJ — Multiple vehicles were hit while responding to a crash scene Sunday on Interstate 295, officials said.
At about 6:30 a.m., the Mount Laurel Fire Department (MLFD) was dispatched for a collision involving a tow truck. The truck was actively removing a vehicle from a prior crash when another vehicle struck it, authorities said.
While blocking the crash scene, an MLFD rescue truck was also struck by a vehicle, the agency said.

There were no injuries in the crash involving the MLFD truck, and the damage was "relatively minor," the fire department said. But the collisions highlight the importance of slowing down and moving over for emergency vehicles, according to the agency.
