Ex-Teacher Gets 5 Years For Sexually Abusing Burlington County Student
She pleaded guilty to the sexual assault of a student she met while working as a substitute teacher.

BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ — A former substitute teacher was sentenced to five years in prison for sexually abusing a student, authorities announced Wednesday.
Kameelah Kareem was a substitute at the Alternative School at Bookbinder in Willingboro on various dates between November 2019 and March 2020. An investigation began in early 2021 after authorities learned of a "possible inappropriate relationship" between her and a 15-year-old student in the 2019-20 school year, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office.
The investigation revealed that Kareem met the student while substituting and interacted with him multiple times outside of school. Prosecutors withheld further details to protect the victim's identity.
