Deputy Fire Chief Honored for Service to Moorestown Community
Chris Chesner was honored Wednesday night.
Deputy Fire Chief Chris Chesner was recognized as the Rotary Community Volunteer Award winner for Moorestown Wednesday night, according to Rotary District 7500.
The Roary said Chesner received this award for his “ Service Above Self” in the community.
Chesner graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Fire Science, and is the currently the Deputy Chief and Fire District Manager.

He was part of the effort combating the fire at the Moorestown Community House on Tuesday, helping to keep the two-alarm fire that began in a corner attic confined to the upstairs, preserving the ballroom, garden room and most of Moorestown’s prized jewel.
Five different towns responded to the fire under the leadership of Chief Grant and Battalion Chief Thomas.

Rotary President Scott Aschoff called Chesner and his teams “an asset to the community.”
Chesner supports the Moorestown Community House Capital Campaign. He is also part of the Moorestown Planning Board, serves the YMCA Risk Management Board, is a Membership Chair of the Moorestown Republican Club a Rotary Past President.
He lives in Moorestown with his wife Maria, and three children Sophia, Giuliana, and Carter.
