Fire At Unoccupied House Under Investigation In Burlington County

Firefighters forced entry into the home but found nobody inside.

MEDFORD, NJ — An unoccupied house caught fire Friday afternoon in Medford.

Authorities responded to Christopher Mill Road just after 3:15 p.m. after a report of smoke coming from the eaves of the house. Upon arrival, the Medford Township Fire Department forced entry into the home and conducted a search, finding nobody inside, police said.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze.

The Medford Township Fire Marshal Office and the police department's Criminal Investigative Bureau are investigating the cause of the fire.

The Tabernacle Rescue Squad and the Medford Lakes and Evesham fire departments helped extinguish the fire.
