Former Moorestown Zoning Board Vice Chair Was Active In Community
Richard A. Koory, 73 of Moorestown, passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 2, 2020.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Richard A. Koory, 73 of Moorestown, passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 2, 2020. Richard was predeceased by his beloved wife, Sandra S. Koory; father Edward Robert Koory; mother Gertrude McNassar Koory; and brother E. Robert Koory. He is survived by daughters Kierston Koory and Courtney Kiser (Matthew); grandchildren Ryan and Jason; and his sister Susan Koory.
Richard was born and raised in Malone, New York before moving to New Jersey. Richard received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from LeMoyne College, Syracuse, New York, and a J.D. degree from Rutgers School of Law in Camden, New Jersey. Richard served as General Counsel to US Realty Associates, Inc. for the past 24 years, and was a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association since 1972.
A Moorestown resident since 1983, Richard was very involved with the Township. Richard served as a Member on the Township of Moorestown Zoning Board of Adjustment, most recently serving as Vice Chairman and previously served as a member of the Low & Moderate Income Housing Oversight Committee.

Richard also served as Secretary and was a dedicated Board Member since the formation of Pacing for the Cure, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to help those living with Multiple Sclerosis, in 2016. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Council in Moorestown, New Jersey.
Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to everyone he knew. Richard loved spending his free time with his family and his companion Claire. He especially enjoyed visiting with his grandsons, whether it was watching the boys at their many sporting events or weekly Sunday family dinners.

Richard enjoyed sports, was an avid golfer, which he played every Sunday with his best friend, Eric, and other good friends. He also loved watching and attending the games of his favorite teams - the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies and Flyers.
A special thank you to the healthcare workers at Jefferson Hospital for their loving care and support during Richard’s final days.
Due to present circumstances services for Richard will be privately held; however, his family will have a celebration of his life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard’s name may be made to Ryan and Jason Kiser’s Education Fund.
