“This family-fun event is one-stop shopping for everything that our residents with green thumbs need to kick off their spring garden plantings,” Burlington County Freeholder Deputy Director Hughes, liaison to the County Department of Resource Conservation, said. “Before you go out to a big box retailer, stop by our Garden Expo to support our local farmers and small business owners and get answers to all your gardening questions.”
Workshops will be held throughout the day, starting at 9:30 a.m. They will cover a wide range of gardening topics including healthy eating, growing strawberries, backyard composting, and a cooking demonstration with ingredients that can be easily grown at home. Children can make a planter for mom for Mother’s Day for a small fee, the proceeds of which benefit Heart and Hand.
