Under Moorestown’s form of government, members of council are elected by the public. Council members then choose a mayor and a deputy mayor from among their membership.

The mayor serves in that position for two years, while the deputy mayor serves in that role for one year. This year, Murphy will swear in both the mayor and deputy mayor.

Like many recent meetings, the reorganization meeting will be held virtually. Members of the public can participate in the meeting just the same as if at an in-person meeting. The mayor will open the floor for public participation in accordance with normal protocol.
