Gun Threats Lead to Mt. Laurel Man's Arrest: Police

The 72-year-old man barricaded himself inside his Rancocas Boulevard home for several hours Saturday, according to Mount Laurel Police.

An elderly Mount Laurel man was arrested Saturday after he barricaded himself inside his home and threatened another member of the house with a gun, police said. 

Mount Laurel Police responded to the first block of Rancocas Boulevard at 11:32 a.m., to the home of 72-year-old Jeffrey Gottesman, after receiving a report that he had threatened another household member with a handgun. Several surrounding residences were evacuated, according to a report.

Authorities took Gottesman into custody at 3:05 p.m. and recovered a number of weapons from the residence, police said.

In addition to Mount Laurel Police, the state police, Burlington County Prosecutor's Office, Mount Laurel EMS and Mount Laurel Fire Department also assisted at the scene.

Gottesman was charged with terroristic threats, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose and being a fugitive from justice. He is also wanted out of Pennsylvania for terroristic threats, police said.
