Halloween Parade Highlights Season Of Events In Moorestown
The resurrected parade, Thriller Night and a Pumpkin Party are among the festivities in store for Moorestown this Halloween season.
MOORESTOWN, NJ — Moorestown’s Halloween Parade is back. The annual march down Main Street returns on Oct. 20 after a brief hiatus.
The parade will take place on Sunday, Oct. 20, 4 p.m. It will begin in front of Wells Fargo Bank and march down Main Street. Staging will take place at 3 p.m. at the corner of Main Street and Chester Avenue, in front of the cemetery. All Moorestown residents are invited to participate in the parade.
A costume contest will be held directly after the parade on the front lawn of the Moorestown Community House, 16 East Main Street. Prizes will be awarded for best family costume, best group, funniest, scariest, cutest and best homemade costume. The top prize will be for best in show.

All winners will receive a free meal at the Rotary Pancake Breakfast on Oct. 27. Refreshments will be served at Community House lawn. There will also be a DJ, face painting and selfie station. Rain date is Oct. 27.
The parade was held annually, but had been cancelled because it didn’t benefit local businesses and encompass the township’s residents. Annette McGuire worked with the Moorestown Business Association to bring the parade back, the Moorestown Sun reports.

The Halloween festivities begin this weekend when the Moorestown Relief Engine Company 312 hosts its “Build A Scarecrow At Moorestown Autumn Day” event. The event takes place in front of the community center and event organizers will provide all materials needed.

The Moorestown Mall will host its annual Thriller Night on Friday, Oct. 18, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event includes two Trunk or Treats, one inside and one outside, as well as the screening of two movies on a 20-foot screen. “Hocus Pocus” will screen at 5 p.m., followed by “The Nightmare Before Christmas” at 7 p.m.
The Bowman School of Dance will perform two live re-enactments of “Thriller,”and there will be a meet and greet with Jack Skellington, Santa and Sally. For more on this event, visit the Moorestown Mall’s website.
The Perkins Center for the Arts will host a Pumpkin Party on Friday, Oct. 25, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. There will be a costume parade, games and crafts on the Evergreen Lawn at Perkins Center for the Arts on Kings Highway/Main Street, Moorestown.
