Hit-And-Run Seriously Injured Pedestrian In Burlington County, Man Charged: Police
The driver was charged after the victim was airlifted for medical treatment, authorities said.

MEDFORD, NJ — A driver was charged Thursday after striking and seriously injuring a pedestrian with his vehicle before fleeing the scene in Burlington County, authorities said.
The hit-and-run occurred at about 11:30 a.m. in the parking lot of 666 Stokes Rd., Medford, according to police. The address belongs to Murphy's Marketplace, a grocery store.
The victim potentially sustained a fractured or dislocated hip and ankle and was transported via helicopter to Cooper Trauma Center, authorities said.

The Medford Township Police Department shared a photo of the suspect vehicle on social media and found the driver later that day. Martin Vanderpoel, 72, or Egg Harbor Township, was charged with leaving the scene of a crash that resulted in serious bodily injury, failure to render aid to an injured victim, and several motor-vehicle offenses.
Medford police thanked the community for helping to identify the vehicle.
