Inaugural Golf Tournament In Moorestown Raises $70,000 for Foundations That Help Military Veterans

Retired US Army Major General Steve Hashem and Todd Sherman co-sponsored the inaugural Patriot Invitational.

Moorestown, NJ -- The inaugural Patriot Invitational golf tournament raised $70,000 for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and Quantum Leap Farm last Monday, according to Scott Aschoff, of the Moorestown Rotary Breakfast Club.

The Special Operations Warrior Foundation offers support and assistance for fallen warrior families to include full tuition, room and board college scholarships and tutoring.

Quantum Leap Farm provides equine-assisted therapies to military service members and their families.

Retired US Army Major General Steve Hashem and Todd Sherman co-sponsored the tournament, and hope to make this annual golf invitational the premier charity event of its kind in the Delaware Valley Region.

CSM Brendan O'Connor, a Moorestown resident who was recently awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for valor for his heroic actions in Afghanistan was among the Special Operation Forces veterans who attended the event.

Several Generals, a Vice Admiral and other active duty servicemen and women were also in attendance.
