Legislative Breakfast, Film Festival: Moorestown Monday Manual
A film festival is just one of the many events going on in and around Moorestown this week. Learn more about some of these events below.
MOORESTOWN, NJ — Welcome to the May 9 edition of the Moorestown Monday Manual, where we highlight important events coming up this week in and around Moorestown.
On Monday at 6:30 p.m., Moorestown Library shows the movie “It Happens Every Spring,” a 1949 baseball-themed comedy.
Also on Monday, at 7 p.m., Moorestown Township Council meets at Town Hall. Among the items on the agenda are Parkers Creek Bridge, a speed limit radar sign and improvements to the wastewater treatment plant.

On Tuesday at 7 p.m., there will be a Spring Concert put on at the Upper Elementary School.
On Wednesday at 11 a.m., the Burlington County Regional Chamber of Commerce is hosting a new member meet-up and a lunch. Pre-registration is an absolute must, whether you are a member of the chamber or not.

Also on Wednesday, at 7 p.m., at The Merion, a bridal showcase featuring wedding fashions, entertainment and displays takes place.
On Thursday, at 5 p.m., it’s day one of Burlington County's first-ever Juried Short Film Festival at the Burlington County Library Westampton Branch. Nearly 30 films will be screened during the 2-day event.
On the same day, at the same time, skip making dinner and attend the beer garden, food truck and game-themed event known as 2nd Street Market in Moorestown.
Also on Thursday at 7 p.m., a Spring Concert will be put on at the William Allen Middle School.
On Friday at 8 a.m., the Public Policy Council of the Burlington County Regional Chamber of Commerce is hosting a breakfast featuring members of New Jersey’s 8th legislative district.
Then at 5 p.m. on Friday, it is the second and final day of Burlington County’s first-ever Juried Short Film Festival at the Burlington County Library Westampton Branch.
On Saturday at 8 a.m., Moorestown’s Community-Wide Yard Sale gets underway. It might be wise to get your shopping bags and walking shoes ready now.
Also on Saturday, but starting at 2 p.m., Moorestown Library hosts a discussion led by Bill Holt, a local opera aficionado and founder of Moorestown Library's Opera Roundtable. Holt will talk about The Metropolitan Opera's upcoming HD simulcast of “Lucia di Lammermoor.”
Our somewhat busy Saturday in Moorestown concludes with the curtain rising on the Possibility Players’ performance of a play called “All of Us” at 7 p.m. The members of this theater group have "diffabilities" – the group’s way of referring to different abilities – and the play offers insight into what life is like with such challenges.
On Sunday at 9 a.m., a paper-shredding event sponsored by Burlington County begins at the Burlington County Resource Recovery Center.
