Life Of A Monarch Butterfly Subject Of Moorestown FEP Workshop This Weekend
The workshop is set for Sunday at the Moorestown Friends Meetinghouse.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — The Friends Enrichment Program (FEP) of Moorestown Friends Meeting will host a monarch butterfly workshop on Sunday, Aug. 27, 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The workshop will take place in the Moorestown Friends Meetinghouse, at the intersection of Chester Avenue and East Main Street.
Candy and Glenn Curtis of Marlton and son Sean will bring live caterpillars, chrysalises, and — hopefully — flying butterflies for participants to see. For the past six or seven years, the Curtises have been growing milkweed plants in their yard, thus providing a nurturing environment for monarch butterflies through all the stages of their development.
With luck, workshop participants will be able to release young winged butterflies outside and watch them flutter about as they begin to get ready for their fall migration, a voyage that might take them all the way to the ancient oyamel forest of Mexico.
