Liquidation Sales Underway At Moorestown Lord & Taylor

The retail chain will close its Moorestown Mall store in January. Liquidation sales have begun.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Liquidation sales at the Lord & Taylor in the Moorestown Mall have begun, a store representative confirmed Wednesday morning. Merchandise throughout the store is 40 percent off, and certain jewelry is 60 percent off.

The liquidation sales come as the company sets to close its Moorestown Mall in January, although no exact date has been set. A layoff notice Lord & Taylor filed with the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development lists Jan. 31, 2020, as the date in which 81 layoffs will go into effect in Moorestown.

It was later announced that a Planet Fitness would open a 23,000 square foot facility in the store’s place this spring. The Moorestown Mall is located at 400 West Route 38 in Moorestown. Read more here: Planet Fitness Coming To Moorestown Mall This Spring

Lord & Taylor was one of two stores that filed tax appeals township officials said contributed to a 2.48 percent tax rate increase in this year's municipal budget. The township must pay $325,000 each year for the next five years to PREIT for the appeals by Lord & Taylor and Macy's, beginning this year.
