Local Musician, Longtime Moorestown Resident Passes At 86

Monica Devereaux passed away on April 28, 2019.

Devereaux, Monica (nee Waldron), of Moorestown, NJ, passed away on April 28, 2019, at the age of 86. Monica was a longtime resident of Moorestown and was a very active member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church of Moorestown.

Monica was born in Liverpool, UK, where she was raised and took to music. She played various instruments with her sisters in their own group known as the Waldron Sisters. She continued to perform after coming to the states at many local venues. Monica had worked for over 20 Years at the Bellmawr office of the US Postal Service.

Wife of the late Joseph. Mother of Monica Contarino, Catherine Devereaux, Joseph Devereaux, Brian Devereaux, Colette Devereaux, Lisa Devereaux and the late Thomas Devereaux. Grandmother of 10 and sister of the late Winifred O’Donnell and Bernadette Hirokawa.

Visitation is Monday, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Lewis Funeral Home, 78 East Main Street, Moorestown, NJ. Mass of Christian burial is Monday, 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 42 West Main Street, Moorestown, NJ. Private interment at Brigadier William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.
