Longtime Moorestown Resident Passes At Age 86

Dorothy Jo Weathers (nee Winkle), of Moorestown, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2018, at the age of 86. Dorothy was born in Dimmitt, Texas, the daughter of the late O.B. Winkle and Ruth Louise Winkle Meacham (nee McMahon).

Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late William Weathers. She was the mother of the late infant Nanette Weathers, the precious Mudder of daughter Patti Schast Jester (Dean) of Moorestown, NJ, mother of sons Steven Weathers of Topeka, Kansas and the late Craig Weathers of Puyallup, Washington.

She was the loving and incredibly proud and beloved grandma of Sierra Schast and the late Daniel Schast. Dorothy delighted in her bonus step-grandchildren Adam Jester, Brad Jester, Darcie Jester, and Michael Jester(Cheryl). Her step-great grandsons Teddy and Harrison brought joy to her heart. She was the beloved and loving sister of Eddie Winkle of Wichita, Kansas and Cheryl Chase of Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

Dorothy moved to Moorestown in 2016 from her home of 40 years in Renton and Puyallup, Washington to be near her daughter and son-in-law. She left behind many close friends and family, but continued to stay connected. Dorothy also had a winter home in Mesa, Arizona where she spent January through April, yearly.

She loved her “little house in the desert” and had many fun times with her beloved cousins and many dear Arizona snowbirds friends. Her love of family and friends, infectious sense of humor, and proud and strong Texas accent will be remembered by all.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Dorothy’s life on Friday, March 2, 2018, at the First Baptist Church, 19 West Main Street, Moorestown, NJ at 10:30 a.m. Visitation prior at 9:30 a.m. Memorial contributions in Dorothy’s memory may be made to The American Cancer Society, 851 Old Cuthbert Road, Cherry Hill, NJ, 08034.
