The therapeutic riding program is for adults and children with learning and communication differences, emotional and social issues, and physical differences. Lessons are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays and are taught by NAHRA certified instructors.
“The horses are reliable, solid, safe,” said Baker. “We’ve had a lot of success with autistic children. Autistic kids and horses just seem to click.”

Majoda has been providing therapeutic riding lessons for 10 years.
“We were asked to do it,” said Baker. “We’re always looking for ways to expand our program.”
Majoda recently started an Adopt a Horse program. The program, open to individuals 14 and older, lets participants learn how to groom, massage, lead and do ground exercises to help manage the health and well-being of the horses in the program. The horses in the program have been retired from riding lessons.
“This is perfect for someone who used to ride,” said Baker. “It lets the horses know somebody cares about them.”
The horses—Jack, 29, Jackie, 22 and Ty, 22—are former race and lesson horses.
Majoda will also be offering three sessions of its summer camp, giving participants the opportunity to learn horsemanship and horse care. Campers will also play games on horseback. There is also a one-week session of camp for children with special needs.
