Man Stole $2.5 Million From Moorestown Employer: Cops
The accounting manager for a Moorestown company is accused of stealing $2.5 million from his employer over a 14-year period.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — A 78-year-old man has been charged with stealing more than $2.5 million from a Moorestown company he worked for as an accounting manager over a 14-year period, authorities announced on Wednesday.
Charles Esposito, of Hainesport, has been charged with second-degree theft by deception, second-degree computer criminal activity and second-degree misapplication of entrusted property, according to Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Moorestown Township Police Chief Lee Lieber.
Esposito surrendered at the Moorestown Police Department. He was processed on a summons and released on his own recognizance. The case will now be prepared for presentation to a Burlington County Grand Jury for possible indictment.

Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope [sic] opened an investigation after concerns were raised about a hand-written check for $18,500 that had been signed by Esposito and contained another signature that appeared to be a forgery in April, according to authorities.
An investigation revealed that Esposito was able to circumvent the company’s check issuance procedures and divert $2,537,655 for his personal gain, according to authorities. He is accused of conducting 243 fraudulent transactions between 2005 and April 2019, authorities said.
