On Saturday, Singh held up two women at gunpoint in a bedroom of a Manassas home, police said. Both were family members who lived in the home with Singh, according to law enforcement.

During the altercation, Singh fired a round from his handgun but did not hit either victim. He also assaulted one woman while holding the handgun, before strangling the other victim, police said.

The women and their family members fled from the home. They did not initially report the incident to police, but they've since been found safe.

Police did not disclose each woman's specific relationship to Singh but said that his wife is also safe.

At some point after they fled, Singh fatally shot two people who were renting out the basement, authorities said. Police identified the victims as Joshua Lee Davis and Nicole Wanda Lynn Davis, both 45.

Both of them knew Singh and the other residents who lived on the upper level, police said.

Singh traveled to New Jersey to search for his estranged wife, according to Evesham police. Early Sunday morning, he went to another family member's home on Kelly Drive in Evesham. Outside of the home, Singh got into an argument with the homeowner and pointed a gun at the homeowner, authorities said.

Singh fled the area, but police located him shortly after in Medford and arrested him without incident. He had a .40 caliber handgun and an AK-47 rifle, with four fully loaded high-capacity magazines, police said.

Police brought Singh to Virtua Marlton Hospital for an evaluation and treatment. While being treated, Singh kicked an Evesham officer, who was unhurt, authorities said.

While in custody, Evesham police asked Prince William County police to conduct a welfare check at Singh's Manassas home. That's when they found both homicide victims, authorities said.

During the ensuing investigation, Prince William County police learned of the domestic incident that occurred before the killings.

In Virginia, Singh has been charged with murder (two counts), use of a firearm in the commission of a felony (four counts), abduction (two counts), discharging a firearm within an occupied home (two counts), strangulation, and domestic assault and battery.

He has been charged in New Jersey with several weapons offenses, aggravated assault with a firearm, aggravated assault on law enforcement, and two counts of being a fugitive of justice.
