Mayor, Deputy Mayor Encourage Moorestown Residents to Shop Local for the Holidays

Moorestown Mayor Victoria Napolitano and Deputy Mayor Phil Garwood visited six businesses along the township’s Main Street this week to remind residents to “Shop Local” this holiday season and throughout the year.

“As we approach Black Friday and Small Business Saturday, we felt it was important to highlight a few of the outstanding local shops that we are fortunate to have here on Main Street,” Napolitano said. “These business owners give back to our town in so many ways, and the holiday season gives all residents the perfect opportunity to support these shops by doing their shopping in all of Moorestown’s great business districts.”

Napolitano and Garwood visited the following businesses:

• Workman’s Bike Center, 79 E Main Street - Since 1973, owner Ed Workman’s family has provided outstanding customer service to generations of Moorestonians in the sale, service, and repair of bicycles and bicycle accessories.
• Health Haven, 69 E. Main Street - One of Main Street’s newest residents, having opened to the public in June of 2015. An offshoot of owner Donna Woods’ longstanding store on Route 38 in Hainesport, Heath Haven at 69 E Main Street offers a variety of nutritional supplements, vitamins, herbs, healthy foods, and even health-conscious products for pets.
• La-Di-Da, 17 E. Main Street – Celebrating its 20th year in business, La-Di-Da is a shop owned by Phoebe Dennis that brings together a wonderful collection of contemporary and classic fashions, gorgeous jewelry, accessories, and gifts.
• Bedazzled, 11 E. Main Street – Owner Nancy Custer’s family-owned boutique offers shoppers the latest fashion trends from jewelry, handbags, clothing, and unique gifts, including a variety of seasonal Christmas items.
• Navy Blue Home & Gifts, 3 E. Main Street – Since December of 2012, owner Melissa McGrath’s wonderful shop brings a little bit of New England to downtown Moorestown. Offering a wide array of gifts that are mostly made in the USA, Navy Blue has a number of items that are specific to Moorestown and New Jersey for those seeking to showcase their local pride.
• The Happy Hippo Toys, 135 W. Main Street – For over 30 years, The Happy Hippo has provided customers a fantastic selection of both modern and classic toys that inspire creativity, imagination, and fun for the young (and young at heart).

“In addition to visiting our local businesses on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday, we hope our neighbors will join us for a new tradition on December 3 as the Moorestown Business Association and Main Street Merchants roll-out the first-ever Main Street Holiday Stroll,” Garwood said. “Town Council is proud to stand with our local business community, and we are proud to live in a town that continues to value these businesses that are truly an integral part of Moorestown.”
