Mayor, Deputy Mayor Help Open Moorestown's Newest Salon

Mayor Victoria Napolitano and Deputy Mayor Phil Garwood helped cut the ribbon at The Salon at Marc Stephens.

Moorestown Mayor Victoria Napolitano and Deputy Mayor Phil Garwood recently helped mark the expansion of a longtime business in the Township.

They were in attendance for the ribbon-cutting ceremony at The Salon at Marc Stephens, which opened for business on Jan. 2 at 213 Chester Avenue.

“We are very excited to welcome The Salon at Marc Stephens as our newest neighbor here in Moorestown,” Napolitano said. “Over the last few years, Moorestown has bucked the national trend by welcoming new businesses throughout our community, and we on Town Council couldn’t be prouder.”

Mark Merlino and his family have owned a barber shop in town for 54 years, but have long dreamed of opening a full service salon to complement the shop.

The new salon offers a range of services, including haircuts, hair-dying, makeup styling and a bridal coordinator for wedding-related needs.

The salon provides services for men and women, and is open six days a week.

“Any day that we get to welcome a new business to Moorestown is a good day,” Garwood said. “We wish the Merlinos the best as they continue providing high-quality service to the people of Moorestown for many years to come.”
