MHS Has County's Top SAT Scores

Moorestown High School had the highest SAT scores in Burlington County and the second highest in the tri-county area, coming in second to Haddonfield.

Moorestown’s average math score increased to 587 in 2009-10, which is above both the state and district factor group averages.

Verbal scores in 2009-10 were 562, down from 565 in 2008-09. Essay scores increased to 560 over the previous year’s 556 mark. Both verbal and essay outpaced the state and DFG averages of 497/546 and 499/555 respectively.

Moorestown had the highest percentage of students take the SAT in Burlington County, with 87 percent taking the test, down from a high of 94 percent in 2007-08.

The school did graduate 100 percent of its seniors in 2009-10, with 79.8 percent planning on attending four-year colleges/universities, the highest in the county, and 11.9 percent planning on attending two-year colleges.

On the High School Proficiency Assessment, Moorestown had the highest number of students who scored advanced proficient in both language arts and math.

Also, for the first time in three years, Moorestown’s faculty salaries were above the state average. The average Moorestown faculty member earns $62,187, up from $56,594 in 2008-09. The state average is $61,840. Moorestown also spends $13,104, slightly below the state average of $13,833.
