Michelle Poolaw Named Burlington County Teacher Of The Year

BURLINGTON CO., NJ—A Hillside Elementary School teacher has been named the Burlington County Teacher of the Year by Governor Phil Murphy and the New Jersey Department of Education.

Michelle Poolaw is a mathematics support teacher at Hillside Elementary in the Mount Laurel School District.

Poolaw was a third grade teacher for eight years before becoming an Elementary Basic Skills math teacher this year, according to the Department of Education website.

New Jersey County Teachers of the Year represent the teaching profession throughout the year. They work as liaisons between their colleagues and the state Department of Education, county Offices of Education, school districts, and the community. They also serve as ambassadors to businesses, parents, and service organizations.
