MoorArts Announces 2018 Scholarship Winners
Fourteen Students Who Excel in the Arts Were Recognized at Moorestown High School Senior Recognition Night

MoorArts, an all-volunteer, non-profit organization, has been dedicated to supporting the fine and performing arts in Moorestown Public Schools and throughout the community for almost 30 years. A major focus for MoorArts is awarding scholarships to graduating seniors who have demonstrated excellence in the fine and performing arts during their high school careers. This year, 14 graduating seniors were presented with MoorArts scholarships at Moorestown High School's Senior Recognition Night in June: Emily Ai, Andrew Chen, Peter Wajda, and William Wang (Instrumental Music Awards), Dean Blizzard (Mike Pruitt Memorial Musical Theatre & Acting Award), Olivia Boyer, Anna Buss, Megan Clark, and Thomas Trasser (Visual Arts Awards), Michael Gural (Theater Award), Andrew Harker (Tolman Award), Bridget Hartshorne (Cross Cultural Award), Christine Nasife (Arts Production Award), and Hannah Yallof (Nicole de la Parra Reyer Designer Award).
Proceeds from MoorArts-sponsored events support MoorArts Scholarships for eligible high school seniors and the MoorArts Grants Program for arts-based projects in the school system. Since 1991, MoorArts (established as Moorestown Arts Advocacy Council) has awarded over 300 scholarships for outstanding achievement in visual arts, vocal and instrumental music, theater, arts production, design, and dance. A number of scholarship recipients now have promising careers in the arts or arts-related fields, and many have returned to participate in MoorArts activities as performers, technical and creative assistants, and in leadership positions.
