Moorestown Council Discusses Parking Lot Expansion Plan
Scott Taylor of Taylor Design Group made a presentation to council Monday night.

Moorestown, NJ -- The vice president of the Taylor Design Group presented a proposal to Moorestown Council that he says would expand and improve safety in the municipal parking lot during its meeting Monday night at town hall.
Scott Taylor presented a plan that would connect Passariello’s Pizzeria and Kitchen to the municipal parking lot on West Second Street via the church. The connection between the church and the municipal lot already exists, Taylor said.
He said currently, the space is too small for two cars to fit through simultaneously. The expansion would eliminate that problem. The church and Passariello’s will each lose two parking spaces, but they don’t have a problem with that, Taylor said.

According to Chief Financial Officer Tom Merchel, the township will handle the initial construction costs, and maintenance after that will be up to the property owners. The price has not yet been determined, but Merchel said he will find the money in the budget.
In a related proposed ordinance that was introduced Monday night, the township is amending the portion of township ordinance concerning handicapped parking in the municipal parking lot and West Parking Plaza.
There are seven handicapped spots in the municipal parking lot.
